CHATIME is a bubble tea franchise from Taiwan. Established in 2005, the business now has over 300 retail locations worldwide - including Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, the USA and Australia.

The CHATIME concept is ‘technical tea’. Thanks to our state-of-the art tea machinery, our bubble teas are brewed freshly in-store.

To ensure the highest quality tea, every CHATIME store features sugar machines, coffee and tea machines, a special ‘fresh tea’ machine, and other equipment used to make the freshest bubble teas on the market.

By utilising all this ‘tea technology’, CHATIME franchises save time and space while maximising drink quality. As a business, we strive for ‘small shops; large margins’.

Simply follow our ten-step franchise procedure:

  • 1. Download and complete the CHATIME franchise application form
  • 2. We’ll assess your application and qualify that you have sufficient funds
  • 3. Select your location
  • 4. Organise a lease and franchise agreement
  • 5. Submit your franchise and lease agreement and place a 10% deposit
  • 6. Sign lease and franchise agreement
  • 7. Shop fit out and training
  • 8. Cleaning and equipment installation
  • 9. Final training assessment
  • 10. Open for business!

Finding the perfect location: our tips

There are many factors to consider when opening a CHATIME franchise.

It’s a good idea to select a location that gets a lot of passing foot traffic. Is it a high exposure area? Is it close to public transport, or is car parking available?

Next, consider the demographics of the area – are they students, office workers, or elderly?

Then, you should consider the local competition. Does the area have many other stores selling similar products? Will it be difficult to compete? What are you competitors pricing and promotional strategies?

Finally, you must consider the rent. Is it reasonable? Is it comparable to other similar sized shops in the area?

How much money do I need to open a CHATIME franchise?

A good guide is over AU$210,000 – depending on the size of the shop. The funds can be cash at the bank, support from relatives or from a former business.
